Course Outline may be adjusted for current student/parent expectations. Sewing III is a first and second semester class (full school year) and may be taken for multiple years with projects adjusted to fit the skill level and goals of each individual student.

Prerequisite: Sewing II or interview. Student must be confident in threading machines and placing bobbin unassisted. Cutting must be accurate, seams straight and edges finished. New students are welcome to join us mid-year. Please contact Ms. Frizzo to determine which class will best suite your student's needs/abilities.

Students will work with napped textiles, knits and leather goods. Basic construction, edge finishes, layers/quilting, closures, historic fashion trends, alterations and modifications and pattern drafting are among the more advanced work to be done by third and fourth level students.

Projects will be adjusted to meet the unique interests of each student. This class will go beyond the basic skills needed to mend, assemble and create garments and will teach more sophisticated techniques for those students that have developed a passion for sewing.

Students at this level should have assembled a sufficient collection of tools of the trade and supplies and should have a reliable sewing machine.

Classes will be held every Thursday at 12:30 starting Jan 25, 2018 through May 17, 2018 except for the following dates:

Spring Break 4/2 - 4/6/18.

Student will also be expected to attend and participate in the Student Demo / Public Open House on Wed May 23 from 10-3 (parental supervision required). There will be a dinner for the participants held Thurs May 24 from 3-5.
